Irish Fire
Fabulous!
Beautifully written book

Great pictures, other info. questionable
Better than Chinese TextsI was a little dissappointed that the introductory and foundational material was lacking in the book, and that there were no separate sections on diagnosis or expositions of the nature of pathogens. The book is essentially a description of each and every one of the 360 or so primary acupuncture points of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There is a good bit of material about methodology of point selection, but the real gem of this book is the intelligent and thorough descriptions of the points, their properties, and how to locate and needle them. The reason that I gave the book five stars is that it is far more complete and logical in its point descriptions than any of the Chinese texts used by my acupuncturist, a Chinese chiropractor who was a medical doctor Shanghai for eight years before coming to the US and becoming a chiropractor. Often when a discipline is translated from one language and culture to another, the highly systematized translation is more complete and sensible than the eclectic literature corpus upon which it is based. Those who devised this book have created a phenomenally comprehensive synthesis of over 3,000 years of Chinese medical tradition. They have taken on a monumental task and succeeded brilliantly. The quality of this reference is so high that I would even recommend it to practitioners from the orient who are coming to the US or other English-speaking countries to start a practice. First, it will it help them learn the English vocabulary of acupuncture jargon and help them understand our butchered pronunciations of the many Chinese words in an English acupuncturist's vocabulary. Second, they will be able to better communicate their activities to their patients. Finally, the book is as high a quality reference as anything they will have brought with them from Asia.
The Greatest Published Work to DateThis book is priceless. Sell all your other acupuncture reference books if you have to (e.g., CAM, FCA, etc., unless you are still a student), and keep this impressive book on the shelf and within reach. While it is not "officially" adopted as a standard text in U.S. schools, it would be an outrage if this book does not become one in the near future.

Excellent resource!
A Must Have For Parents struggling With Training
Great Resource! No doubt one of the most comprehensive and useful books I have bought. Has helped me construct a program to help my dyspraxic son establish a routine and confidence performing everyday skills consistently.
Recommended purchase!

Great Read
An interesting insight to Adolf Gallands life.
Most insightful

Mildly disappointed.I feel like the book is extremely vague with regard to the provenance of each species - an increasingly important issue in the state of Florida. The book would also be so much more useful to most Florida gardeners, horticulturists, and landscape architects if the author would have made more of an effort to more clearly delineate those species that are native to the state and those that are exotic (and invasive, if applicable).
With that said, the book remains a fairly good reference, especially for beginners. Nice color photographs and a seasoned landscape architect's opinions/observations about how to use each plant in Florida landscapes.
Florida, My Eden
Good combination of pictures and cultural info.

The most congruent person who ever lived
Toward the serious contemplation of life...The effort is not (in my reading) to somehow characterize Jesus as a touchy-feely person, but to reveal the value of what He said to the world in which we live.
The book takes-to-task some traditional Christian thinking (e.g. what about original sin? people are good, people are bad...) and explores some very different ways (from my perspective) to understand addictions. Finally, Part 2 forces one to consider oneself -- very important work.
110 chapters in 281 pages of text -- that's 2.53 pages/chapter (on average). Makes a great way to start the day with some wisdom for the soul.
An Excellent Book, First of it's Kind.

These Poems Flow Into Your Soulof powerful feelings, and are carried alive into the heart of passion. I was very moved by the entire book, but especially by the chapter of Visions. The author gets into the "spiritual psyche" and makes you want to reconnect with the Divine Power that lives in us all. This is a quick and enjoyable read that can also be referred to at any given time for inspiration or encouragement.
SOOTHING!
Excellent!

HmmmmmmIf you have a craving for some Chet Baker (who doesn't/shouldn't?) I would suggest de Valk's bio, or pre-order Gavin's. If you have mystery fix, just buy Elmore Leonard. I am not familiar with the other works of Mr Moody, I like the idea of jazz mysteries but heavily shy away from silly clichés and most of all bad writing. If anything I hope this will turn a few people on to the lovely music of Chet Baker.

The Ultimate Serger Answer Guide
Solid Reference BookThe book is easily read and has excellent pictures and diagrams. It is soley a problem solver and not a technique teacher (which is why I don't think it should be your only reference book if you are new to serging).
This book has an awesome reference sheet on page 79 if you are looking to buy a serger (upgrading or buying for the first time).
